I am Co-Founder & Chief Technology and Operations Officer at Disagree Wisely, Inc., as well as AI Research Scientist at Heterodox Academy. My work focuses on fostering constructive disagreement and civil discourse through research and education.
With Simon Cullen, I co-created Sway, an AI-scaffolded chat platform that helps students engage in constructive conversations about difficult—and often controversial—topics.
Previously I was an Intelligence Community Postdoctoral Research Fellow based in the Department of Philosophy at Carnegie Mellon University (2022–2025) and an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Bilkent University (2018–2022). I received my B.S. in Physics from MIT in 2009 and my PhD in Philosophy from Stanford University in 2018.
